Walcott, currently ranked the No. 7 prospect in baseball by MLB Pipeline, had a strong showing last year with the Frisco Roughriders, posting career bests in walk (13 percent) and strikeout (20 percent) rate. The 19-year-old shortstop is one of the Rangers' 10 non-roster invitees for spring training next month. While he isn't expected to break camp with the major league team, Young praised Walcott's off-the-field attributes, including his work ethic and head on his shoulders.
