The scoring began with Pavel Zacha, who put the Bruins ahead 1-0 with just 9:01 left in the second period. Zacha maneuvered skillfully above the circles, regained possession of the puck after a brief exchange, and advanced into the high slot where he unleashed a shot that soared past Cam Talbot, the Red Wings' goaltender, finding the net just above his glove side.
Fraser Minten extended Boston's lead to 2-0 early in the third period at 3:49. Following a long-range shot from Charlie McAvoy that Talbot managed to stop, Minten capitalized on the rebound. He quickly skated towards the net and received a precise pass from McAvoy while positioned to the left of Talbot, allowing him to score into the open side of the net.
Mark Kastelic then secured the Bruins' victory with an empty-net goal at 3:59 remaining in the game, further solidifying the team's dominant performance.
