Islanders' Star Bo Horvat to Undergo Lower-Body Injury Assessment
NEW YORK -- The New York Islanders' star center, Bo Horvat, will undergo a medical evaluation on Friday after exiting Thursday's game due to a mysterious lower-body injury, as confirmed by head coach Patrick Roy. The 27-year-old Horvat, a key player for the team, left the ice with 12 minutes remaining in a 7-2 home loss to the Utah Mammoth, struggling to put weight on his left leg after a collision with Utah defenseman Sean Durzi.
Roy assured reporters that Horvat will see a doctor on Friday, with further updates expected either that day or the following one. This injury comes as a setback for Horvat, who was recently named to Canada's roster for the upcoming Milan Olympics. Despite missing five games in December due to a separate injury, Horvat remains the Islanders' top scorer with 33 points, and his 21 goals are significantly ahead of his closest teammate.
